Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 26, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how the SaaS Financial Model web application (the “App”), operated by Unified Technical Consulting (“we,” “us,” or “our”), handles information — including data obtained through Google APIs. By using the App you agree to this policy.
Who we are
Unified Technical Consulting is the independent consulting practice of Benjamin Khammar, based in Huntsville, Alabama, United States. Contact: ben@unifiedtechnicalconsulting.com.
What the App does
The App is an interface for your own copy of the SaaS Financial Model Google Spreadsheet. You connect that spreadsheet once, by choosing it in Google’s own file picker. The App then reads the inputs you have entered in it, displays them as interactive dashboards, and writes changes back to that same spreadsheet when you choose to commit them. The App runs under your own Google account.
Google user data we access
The App requests a single Google API scope:
-
Google Drive — per-file access
(
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive.file) — grants the App access only to the specific files you yourself select in the Google Picker, and to files the App itself creates.
This is the narrowest scope Google offers for this purpose. The App is not given access to your Drive as a whole. Access is granted one file at a time, by you, at the moment you pick that file — and it is Google, not the App, that decides which file the grant covers. Until you pick your model spreadsheet, the App can open nothing at all. After you pick it, the App can open that spreadsheet and nothing else.
The file-selection dialog you see is Google’s own Picker, running inside Google’s infrastructure. The App does not receive a listing of your Drive, cannot search it, and never sees the names or contents of files you do not choose.
How we use it
- To read the model inputs from your connected spreadsheet and render dashboards.
- To write changes back to that spreadsheet when you commit an edit.
We do not use your Google data for any other purpose.
What we store
The App does not transmit or store the contents of your spreadsheet on our own servers — we do not operate a server that receives your figures. The App runs on Google’s infrastructure under your account, and reads your spreadsheet live each time you use it.
The only values the App saves are two small identifiers, kept in Google’s per-user application storage (Google Apps Script Properties service), scoped to your Google account:
- the ID of the spreadsheet you selected, so the App knows which one to open; and
- your licence key, so the App knows your access is valid.
Neither of these contains the financial data from your spreadsheet.
How we protect your data
We rely on Google’s own infrastructure for both transmission and storage, rather than operating separate servers of our own, and that gives the data you share with the App the following protections:
- Encryption in transit. All traffic between your browser, the App, and your Google Sheet travels over HTTPS/TLS. Nothing is sent unencrypted.
- Encryption at rest. The two identifiers described above (your spreadsheet ID and licence key) are held in Google Apps Script’s Properties service, which Google encrypts at rest. Your actual financial figures never leave your own Google Sheet, which is likewise encrypted at rest under Google’s standard infrastructure protections.
-
Access control enforced by Google, not by us. The App runs under
your own Google account and holds only the
drive.filepermission, so which files it may open is determined by Google from the selections you make in the Picker — not by the App’s own code. If the App were to request a file you had never selected, Google would refuse it. No one — including Unified Technical Consulting — has standing access to your spreadsheet. - No separate data store. We do not run a database or backend server that receives, logs, or retains copies of your spreadsheet’s contents. There is nothing for us to protect beyond the two identifiers above, because we never possess a copy of your data in the first place.
- Minimal retention. The App stores nothing beyond those two identifiers. Revoking the App’s access withdraws every per-file grant you have made (see “Retention and deletion” below), and you can ask us to delete any stored identifier at any time.
What we do not do
- We do not sell, rent, or share your Google user data with anyone.
- We do not use your Google user data for advertising.
- We do not use it to train machine-learning or AI models.
- We do not access your data manually except where you specifically request support and grant us access.
Limited Use disclosure
Unified Technical Consulting’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Retention and deletion
You are in control of the App’s access at all times:
- Disconnect your spreadsheet from within the App (Model Inputs → Global Settings → Change), which removes the stored spreadsheet ID.
- Revoke the App’s access to your Google account entirely at myaccount.google.com/permissions. Once revoked, every per-file grant you previously made is withdrawn along with it.
- To have any stored identifiers deleted on request, email us at the address below.
Third-party services
The App is hosted on Google (Google Apps Script, Google Drive, and Google Sheets); your use of those services is subject to Google’s Privacy Policy. This website is hosted on Cloudflare Pages, which serves these informational pages only and does not receive your Google data.
Children’s privacy
The App is a business tool and is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above.
